There are numerous techniques which can be used to make felt but the most basic rule is the finer the felt the easier it is to produce felt. Pieces of felt can be produced by layering commercially prepared fleece, usually called tops or rovings, and wet felting until the desired result is achieved.

However, here at Sticky Paws we have sourced beautifully fine, coloured merino prefelt which completely removes the layering stage and enables the felter to produce wonderfully smooth and even conventional and nuno felt.
